The water cycle is the natural process by which water moves
through the Earth’s surface, atmosphere, and back again. This cycle
helps recycle water and maintain life on Earth.
Steps of the Water
Cycle:
1. Evaporation
o The sun heats up water from rivers, lakes, oceans, and even wet soil.
o The water changes into water vapor (gas) and rises into the air.
2. Condensation
o As the water vapor rises, it cools down in the atmosphere.
o It turns back into tiny water droplets and forms clouds.
3.
Precipitation
o When the clouds get heavy, the water falls back to the Earth as rain,
snow, or hail.
o This is called precipitation.
4. Collection
o The water collects again in rivers, lakes, oceans, or soaks
into the ground.
