Why do we always see the same side of the Moon from Earth?

Class: Class 8 Subject: Space Science Topic: space

The Moon takes exactly the same time to rotate on its axis as it takes to revolve around the Earth—about 27 days. This phenomenon is called synchronous rotation. As a result, only one hemisphere of the Moon is visible from Earth while the far side remains hidden. This is why we never see the “dark side” of the Moon directly from Earth.
