What is the difference between physical and chemical changes?

Physical Change:

·         A change in which no new substance is formed.

·         The change is usually reversible.

·         Examples: Melting of ice, boiling of water, tearing of paper.

Chemical Change:

·         A change in which a new substance is formed with different properties.

·         The change is usually irreversible.

·         Examples: Burning of paper, rusting of iron, cooking of food.
