It is conducted by one of the IITs on a rotational basis under the guidance of the Joint Admission Board (JAB).

No. Only candidates who qualify JEE Main and are among the top 2.5 lakh rank holders across all categories are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced.

A candidate can attempt JEE Advanced a maximum of 2 times in 2 consecutive years.Q5. What is the mode of the exam?

JEE Advanced is a computer-based test (CBT) conducted in English and Hindi.

The paper includes Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

There are two papers – Paper 1 and Paper 2.
Both are mandatory and held on the same day. Each paper is of 3 hours duration and includes questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

The marking scheme changes every year.
Questions may have full, partial, or negative marking. Each section typically includes MCQs, numerical-type, and comprehension-based questions.

The syllabus covers Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics based on Class 11 and 12 concepts from CBSE and other recognized boards.
Topics are generally more conceptual and analytical than JEE Main.
